I love your beach posts. Where do you recommend staying on the Oregon coast? As a Portlander, I'm always looking for a new place to try!
Darling video :) I love the Oregon Coast, too, especially Cannon Beach (last summer we bought a dilapidated little cottage that we've been fixing up)
@Kate, have you stayed at the Gearhart Ocean Inn before? They're really cute Cape Cod-style mini-townhouses with kitchen, gorgeous bathroom (pebble shower floor with rain shower head!), Franklin stove and a cute loft bedroom. Hubby and I stayed there and LOVED it! Lots of bright white painted wainscotting :) And just a few blocks to a very quiet beach with gorgeous dunes. http://gearhartoceaninn.com/ Reasonable rates, too (something like $69 in winter for a queen).
Hello, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your baby-at-the-beach video. I've been following your blog for a long time and finally felt like a creepy voyeur who should make herself known. I love all your design postings, your photography, and when I realized you were in Portland, I about died. My husband and I are from OR originally and felt compelled to move to NYC about a decade ago and have been kicking ourselves ever since and trying to make our way back. My family has a little beach cabin on the Oregon coast that has been my favorite place since as long as I can remember. We have a little boy and a baby girl who we NEED to raise in Oregon with frequent family trips to the beach - so, some of your postings bring tears to my eyes. (But, your design taste had me hooked before I even knew our shared love of the OR coast!)
@Alex - thank you! The Gearhart Ocean Inn looks super cute!
Okay....why? Why must you torture me so?! With the adorable toes in the sand?! With the CUTEST sweater/hat combo in the world ( she looks like a little 1920's baby) and with THE most delicious cheeks and little hands in the universe?! I ask you....is it fair? or kind? or thoughtful? To show this honorary aunt these things when she is unable to get her hands on that ADORABLE little thing?! No, it is not. :) LOVE her!
xoxo
