My Happy Place: A Beachy Montauk Bungalow

i had always thought of myself as a well-travelled gal. however, when it comes to the eastern united states i have visited very little. this beautiful bungalow, has me thinking i need to get to montauk. i had been perusing clever and started reading about the sweetest couple, robert and kate (owners of the mckinley bungalow) and their love for one another and this whole montauk place and i knew i needed to go.

robert mckinley owns a studio that specializes in interior design, branding, and creative direction…which is obvious when laying eyes upon this magical home. robert’s studio is also responsible for the interiors of ruschmeyer’s and the surf lodge, which are also located in montauk. often times when i am set to plan a vacation, lodging is something i have to take into consideration, which leads to a lengthy search. in the case of montauk, it seems that i have a few places to choose from thanks to studio robert mckinley.

boo! it has been so long that it only seems right that you are surprised to hear from me. i have been exploring newish career paths, possible relocation…basically, our next adventure. nothing immediate, but soon enough dear friends. in the mean time i couldn’t just leave you all hanging…how about a list? painting with beautiful items, that’s what it feels like to me and i do so love it.

i have always been in awe of photographers that are able to capture interior spaces and details in a beautiful way. i have posted about a few of my favorites: here, here, and here. which is why it is my pleasure to feature the work of chad mellon. chad is able to photograph spaces in a way that has me clamoring for more. i want to see the rooms that surround the space being photographed. i want to see every nook and cranny.

i could pin each and everyone of these photographs and rearrange my whole home based on photographed corner. boundless talent is definitely my thing…thank you mr. mellon for the inspiration.
