Blissful Sponsor: The Straits Finery

November 17, 2017

i used to be the gal with all the jewelry. i had numerous necklaces that were inexpensive (and looked like it) that accessorized many different outfits. then i had babies and got lazy…throwing on one of my cheap-o necklaces seemed silly and expended too much effort. a few years later i had the urge to add a few pieces of sparkle to my outfits yet again. however, i found that my taste had changed and i no longer wanted many pieces of jewelry, i wanted a few pieces that i never wanted to take off.

hence, my latest sponsor the straits finery. i found just what i had been looking for….a tiny, perfect ring and earrings. i haven’t taken them off since i received them. the straits finery set out to create beautiful pieces that are also incredibly incredibly comfortable to wear…”like second skin.” each piece looks beautiful dressed up or down. i am so thrilled to have the straits finery as a beloved sponsor…do yourself a favor and grab ahold of a few pieces for yourself or someone you adore.

As many of you know, there was a time when photography (the kind taken with a real camera) was a huge part of who I am and what I did here on Bliss. Times change…thanks to the prevalence of phone photography and the accessibility of the camera phone, my old school photos fell to the wayside. Which is crazy, because some of my all-time favorite photos and moments were trapped inside my trusty DSLR. One of those “top 5” moments I had sadly neglected was the trip my family and I took to Iceland a few years back.

We had the privilege of experiencing this magical place with our dearest friends…one of whom is an Icelandic native. Due to the importance of this moment I lugged my big girl camera along and attempted to capture this place that was unlike anything I had ever experienced. I also took my phone. No surprise at all, my phone photos fell short. However, the photos taken with my big camera did not disappoint. I knew I needed to display a few of these in a very special way. It turns out the very best way to do so happened to be with a company I have been following for awhile, Framebridge.

I simply chose 2 of my favorite Icelandic photos:

I uploaded them directly to the Framebridge site, chose the perfect frame and mat, and voila! I really couldn’t be happier with how they turned out and the process was beyond easy. I am of course inspired to go through the rest of my photos and create and display Framebridge masterpieces throughout my home.

Wait! I simply couldn’t make this partnership all about me. Use promo code “blissblog15” at Framebridge.com to get 15% off your first order with Framebridge. Valid until 12/31/2017.

Sponsored: Serena and Lily Round Jute Rug

September 4, 2017

I am obsessed with rugs. All shapes, sizes, materials, etc. So, when Serena and Lily asked me to review their beautiful jute rug I was all over it. Of course, the fact that this jute rug is the most amazing round version also played had me beyond thrilled to participate in this collaboration. I had been admiring this gorgeous round jute rugs all over pinterest and had been jumping at the bit to add one to my ample rug collection.

As you know, my mid-century home is a work in progress. One of my favorite rooms is the sunroom off of our living area. Unfortunately, I had been less than thrilled with the flooring…until I dressed it up with my new jute rug from Serena and Lily. This rug fits in perfectly with my scandinavian inspired interior and is the finishing touch I have been waiting for. I am also pleasantly surprised with the durability of this particular rug. I have tried other floor coverings in this space but have found that they are short-lived additions. Due to the climate conditions in my neck of the woods, dust is a huge problem….so much so that I have had to roll up most of my rugs until the dry dusty summer passes. The Serena and Lily round jute rug has proven to hold up perfectly, even during this time of year and does not need to be stored until more favorable conditions apply. I am also thrilled with the natural fibers and appearance…the perfect design addition to compliment my plants and natural wood elements.

Perhaps the best news of all is that Serena and Lily is generously offering a discount to my blissful readers. Valid for one week only, Serena and Lily is offering 15% percent off! Just use code “RUGLOVE-BLISS”…lucky you!
